The 5K medal features Lumiere; new to this year’s offerings, the 10K features the fairies from Sleeping Beauty (my favorite design!); the Half Marathon medal features Mickey, diamonds and Disneyland Paris 25 commemorating the 25th anniversary of the park’s opening; the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Challenge medal features the Fairy Godmother and a spinning inner blue pumpkin coach; and the very distinguished-looking Castle to Chateau medal has been updated for this year with a red ribbon.

2018 Princess Half Marathon Weekend training guides are already up! This is practically the earliest they’ve ever posted the training schedules! I think everyone is excited for the 10th anniversary weekend. Program begins October 24. As I mentioned last week, Princess weekend is expected to undergo a design overhaul in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Half, and the 5th anniversary of the Challenge.

For corral placement, proof of time must be submitted before November 14. The runDisney Princess Half Marathon weekend entices runners of all ages and abilities. With a large field size of casual runners, the Princess page has most strict-sounding messaging for proof of time, stating “If proof of time is not provided by November 14, 2017, data provided is incomplete or cannot be verified, you will be placed in the last start corral.” “No corral changes will be made after November 14, 2017.” I can attest that the “back of the pack” can feel crowded so be sure to get your proof of time in sooner rather than later!

Race medal designs, TBD. All races on the runDisney website are sold out!*

Disneyland’s Tinkerbell Half Marathon Weekend page has not yet been refreshed for 2018. Registration for Annual Passholders/DVC members was originally scheduled to open Thursday, June 22, and General Registration June 27, but now the runDisney website reads:Stay tuned for registration and event information for the 2018 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend.” Could Tink weekend be affected by traffic issues/construction like the Light Side half? Stay tuned!

Thanks for reading and wishing you all a happy Independence Day weekend! Stay tuned for next week’s newsletter. As always, #willrunfordisney !

*Please note: if you really want to participate in a race and it is no longer available on runDisney, check your local travel agent as runDisney provides entries to them in an effort to boost their businesses. Bibs will have to come with a ticket and lodging package.
