Hi friends!

I hope everyone who traveled to Disneyland for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend returned home safely and had a magical trip. I’d like to try and make it out there next year! To all my Florida friends, let’s hope this hurricane goes away quickly and with minimal damage.

In the world of runDisney news, here’s what you may have missed:

Hi runDisney friends + fans!

I hope everyone is having a great late-August. I spent the weekend at our family’s lake house and had a sunny, relaxing weekend. I’m attempting to soak up every last bit of summer!

Can you believe the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is NEXT WEEK!? I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the runDisney 2017-2018 calendar to begin! Also happening next week is the opening of Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival and the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the season! In the meantime, here’s what you may have missed last week:

A Love Letter to Epcot

I visited Epcot for the first time October of 1999. Back then, the Millennium Celebration was in full swing, the Food & Wine Festival wasn’t nearly as robust and park attendance was fairly sleepy. But as a nine year old, I was immediately captured by the sights and sounds of Epcot and deemed it my favorite park of the four at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Comes Alive at Night

I love Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I visited during my first family trip to Walt Disney World in 1999 and it became a staple of our visits. Animal Kingdom piques my curiosity and imagination like no other park on property. I find the exotic nature of the park with its winding pathways, lush greenery, and nods to faraway lands ever enjoyable. Every time I go to leave the park for the day I take one last look at the Tree of Life and say to myself “I’ll see you again soon.”

With my nostalgic love of Animal Kingdom, I am also pleased that Disney Imagineers have worked hard to revamp the park and make it a nighttime destination.
