2018 WDW Marathon Medals REVEALED!
On a random Wednesday afternoon in September, runDisney and Disney Parks Blog decided to reveal the 2018 WDW Marathon medals! I have been looking forward to this reveal for months. I will be running the WDW Marathon this January and have been training hard for what I think will be a lifechanging experience for me – it’s my first marathon!
I am so excited about these medals because it’s my first marathon, it’s the Walt Disney World Marathon, and it’s the 25th anniversary year to boot! The medals are sharp, classic, and everything I love about Disney merchandise. Check them out below:
Pluto 5K medal:
Minnie 10K medal:
Donald Duck Half Marathon:
Mickey Mouse Marathon – 26.2 Miles and 25 Years of Celebration!
And don’t forget the Challenge medals! Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge, the popular Dopey Challenge, and the Disney Cruise Line Castaway Cay Challenge medal!
For those who don’t know:
Castaway Cay Challenge: Run a runDisney race on land on race weekend, and run a 5K on Castaway Cay during your Disney Cruise Line vacation to earn this medal.
Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge: Run the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday. You earn three medals total and three event shirts!
Dopey Challenge: Run the 5K Thursday, the 10K Friday, the half marathon Saturday, and the full marathon Sunday. You earn six medals and six event shirts!
I’m so excited! This announcement is motivation for my training – I’ll be thinking about this medal during the long runs throughout the fall.
That’s all for now; Keep Calm and Will Run for Disney
