runDisney news 8/6/2017 – 8/12/2017
Hi friends!
We’re down to the last few weeks of summer! The days are getting (subtly) shorter, but there’s still plenty of time to get that runDisney training run done in the morning or evening. Never run a runDisney race before but are interested or thinking about it? Write a comment or send me an email in my bio! I’d love to help inspire another runDisney athlete!
We’re counting down the days until the start of the new runDisney 2017-2018 season. In case you missed it, here’s the latest on runDisney news for the week of 8/6/17 through 8/12/17:
Here’s the week of August 6 – August 12, 2017:
Virtual Running Shorts – just a few weeks left to earn your Pluto “Dog House” medal! The celebratory Pluto medal goes to those who have completed all three summer virtual races. What is a virtual race? Sign up with runDisney and complete a 5K on your favorite home course or explore on vacation!
Participation still available for the August race

Here are the medals for the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend medals!
We’re less than three weeks away! The official event guide has been posted, and runners can now access their waivers on the runDisney site. For ways to explore Disneyland and other special areas around Anaheim, check out my latest blog post written by my BFF, Rebecca! She and her husband will be running the Disneyland 10K.
For corral placement, the proof of time deadline was May 30.

There’s still a chance to register for the Disneyland Paris – Val D’Europe – Half Marathon Weekend! Here are the beautiful medals to be earned:
The 5K, 10K and Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Challenge are still available! Act fast! Kids races are officially sold out.
For corral placement, proof of time must have be submitted before August 1.
Note: Unlike the other runDisney races, the 10K (like the 5K) is untimed, and thus require no additional paperwork. Runners participating in the half marathon must have a signed medical release form submitted. The deadline for these forms has been pushed to August 31st. You may upload the form to your account and it will be approved by race officiants.

2018 Princess Half Marathon Weekend training begins October 24, and we still have plenty of time until race weekend, but I just love talking about it! In fact, check out my latest post about my insight into the Princess Half Marathon race theme. We’ll likely hear more solid updates from runDisney in the mid- to late fall. I can’t wait to see the celebratory medals but I think we’ll be waiting for at least another two months!
For corral placement, proof of time must be submitted before November 14.

Final Thoughts: I’m so excited for the new runDisney race season to begin. I hope we get more information on the fate of Tink and The Light Side, and hopefully runDisney is making way for bigger and better experiences.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next week’s recap on Monday. As always, #willrunfordisney !
*Please note: if you really want to participate in a race and it is no longer available on runDisney, check your local travel agent as runDisney provides entries to them in an effort to boost their businesses. Bibs will have to come with a ticket and lodging package.
