runDisney news October 15-22, 2017

Well, my friends, after weeks of speculation, we’ve finally heard from runDisney on the status of the Disneyland races. As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, all runDisney Disneyland races have been canceled beginning 2018 due to the rigorous construction schedule for Star Wars and other significant updates to the California parks. With construction lasting an anticipated 2-3 years, will this mean the races will come back? Or is this truly the end? In the meantime, here’s the latest on the current runDisney race schedule 2017-2018:

Here’s the week of October 15 – October 22, 2017:

Just a couple weeks until the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend presented by MISFIT! Your digital event guide, Disney Two Course Challenge corral assignments, Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon corral assignments, and race waiver are now available. Be sure to print out your race waiver ahead of time and bring it with you to the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at Disney’s Wide World of Sports.

R.I.P.

Our coast to coast dreams are dashed beyond 2018! I’m very sad. I do hope they bring these races back bigger and better than ever. The Kessel Run (When you participate in The Light Side Half Marathon Weekend and The Dark Side Half Marathon in the same year!) would have been amazing.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next week’s recap on Monday. As always, #willrunfordisney !

*Please note: if you really want to participate in a race and it is no longer available on runDisney, check your local travel agent as runDisney provides entries to them in an effort to boost their businesses. Bibs will have to come with a ticket and lodging package. You may also consider running the race on behalf of a charity. All charity runners are expected to fundraise. Check the charity listing on each race for more information.
