Can you believe it’s already mid-October? I feel like the good fall weather is just getting started! I can’t wait to head to Walt Disney World in two weeks for all the Halloween and Food & Wine festivities. While I’ll be missing it this year, our next runDisney race weekend is the Disney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon – Presented by MISFIT. Other runDisney news that is lingering in people’s minds is the questionable fate of the Disneyland races in the coming years. What will become of the Disneyland races? Here’s what you may have missed:

So back to the Disneyland rumors. According to WDW News Today (WDWNT), sources claim that Disneyland will make a statement this week to announce the official cancelation of all their future runDisney races for the next 2-3 years. Looming construction projects and tensions already running high with the City of Anaheim are the likely causes of the alleged cancelations.
With less than three months notice, it really looks like the Disneyland Star Wars Half Marathon – The Light Side won’t be happening. The runDisney website still currently says “UPDATE: Registration for the 2018 Star Wars™ Half Marathon at Disneyland®Resort has been temporarily postponed and will open at a later date. Updated information regarding early and general registration dates to come.”
Registration TBD

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next week’s recap on Monday. As always, #willrunfordisney !
*Please note: if you really want to participate in a race and it is no longer available on runDisney, check your local travel agent as runDisney provides entries to them in an effort to boost their businesses. Bibs will have to come with a ticket and lodging package. You may also consider running the race on behalf of a charity. All charity runners are expected to fundraise. Check the charity listing on each race for more information.
