runDisney news September 18-24, 2017

Hi friends!

Congratulations to all Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend runners! I hope you had a magical weekend filled with new memories and hopefully some new PRs. In addition to the Paris races, runDisney was busy surprising us with the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend medals! Here’s what you may have missed:

Here’s the week of September 18 – September 24, 2017:

Congratulations Disneyland Paris – Val D’Europe – Half Marathon Weekend Participants!

Watching from afar, the photos looked spectacular. The 5K race was held Friday night, but the 10K and half marathon races were held at the traditional early morning times. Over the course of the weekend, there were reports of long expo lines, and the 10K ran out of medals and food boxes for participants. Yikes. If that’s true, I hope they find a way to apologize and make things right. runDisney France is affiliated with runDisney but it is technically a separate company, and because this is only their second race weekend, it sounds like they still need to work out some logistics for next year.

Runners may check their official race times here.

The Half Marathon, Two-Course Challenge and Kids Races are still available. For tips on how to have the best Wine & Dine race weekend, check out my latest post!

As a reminder, participants of the half marathon receive a $15 gift card good on basically any Disney property. But it is made especially for the post-race party where you can sample the fare at the Food & Wine festival! How will you spend your $15? It’ll go fast (hah!) I think I bought myself a sample of wine and tacos at a Mexico marketplace with mine last year!

One month out from the event, runDisney will post the Digital Event Guide. Check back here for details. Corral placement and race waives will be posted on the website approximately two weeks before race weekend.

For corral placement, proof of time must have been submitted before August 1.

Disneyland’s Tinkerbell Half Marathon Weekend hasn’t moved from it’s top spot on the runDisney website calendar listing, which at this point has not been refreshed since May. The top three events at this point have come and gone so the listing is very outdated. What are they waiting for, I wonder?:

The runDisney website still reads “Stay tuned for registration and event information for the 2018 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend.
