Hi friends!

I hope everyone who traveled to Disneyland for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend returned home safely and had a magical trip. I’d like to try and make it out there next year! To all my Florida friends, let’s hope this hurricane goes away quickly and with minimal damage.

Registration Tips for the 2018 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Hi friends! After a whirlwind morning of helping fellow princesses complete their early registration for the 2018 #PrincessHalf as Annual Passholders and DVC members, I’d like to put together some helpful registration tips for you all in anticipation of the general registration on May 2!

The Princess Half Marathon weekend is popular for a reason: it’s empowering, it has a magical princess theme, and the half marathon course runs through Cinderella Castle. This is a particularly special Princess year as 2018 is the 10th anniversary of the Princess Half Marathon and the 5th anniversary of the Glass Slipper Challenge Fairy Tale Challenge.

Here’s how to make sure you are part of the celebration:

2017 Disney Princess Half-Marathon Race Recap

Hear Ye, Hear Ye: Congratulations to all my fellow princes and princesses who participated in the 2017 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals! After months of training and preparation (we signed up in JULY ’16!) it’s hard to believe that this magical weekend is over.

I thought it might be fun to introduce my boyfriend, Tommy, to you all and have him share his perspective on the race weekend. While he is very familiar with the 3AM wakeup call as my official runDisney chEARleader, he celebrated his first ever race, the Enchanted 10K. For anyone thinking about trying a runDisney race, as a first-timer Tommy offers a perspective of which you will be able to relate.

With time to finally gather our thoughts, here is the Will Run for Disney 2017 Princess Half race recap:

Introduction Part III of III: runDisney

Last July I agreed to my first runDisney race with a very close friend after a few mimosas (the ultimate confidence booster) and trained for my first ever half marathon for the 2016 Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend. I had always been intrigued by the race. I was familiar with the Disney World Marathon by accident, as my dad and I would regularly plan WDW trips in January and run into (pun intended) the runners at our resort. I had seen friends run the Princess Half in previous years looking incredibly happy and vowed that one day I would do the same.

After an intense registration process, I was amazed to visit the runDisney website and see that there were multiple races, training and healthy eating tips, vacation planning suggestions, accompanying social media pages, and of course, a huge following of diehard fans. I quickly studied and printed out the Jeff Galloway recommended training schedule for “Beginner Runners.” At that time, I was running up to six miles, but still wanted to be cautious. My two goals for this race were to finish the race within the time constraints and have as much fun as possible.
